Avant le Deluge
Waiting for the first of two atmospheric rivers (aka Pineapple Express) to hit California. Yes, SoCal too, not only NorCal and the coastal regions, reaching far inland. At 6 AM we got a fabulous sunrise, as if to make up for the rains coming later. Here’s the sunrise. Enjoy, as we did.
We Survived!
Happy dance! The (thankfully downgraded to tropical) storm came, with plenty of rain* and rather strong winds, and moved on. In our little community there was hardly any damage, other places did not fare so well, but overall – it could have been worse. Now one can only hope that this will not happen more…
Fifth Summer
Fifth summer in the desert and dead on time the monsoon started. Yesterday we had the first thunderstorm with few, but very impressive flashes of lightning in between rambling thunder and then the rain started.
